Food for the Soul

25 01 2010

It’s no secret President Obama is an avid bodysurfer and grew up in Hawaii. Unless you are one of those brainwashed Fox News watchers, then you most likely believe he’s not an American citizen and spends his free time burning Old Glory and wiping his ass with the Constitution. But President Obama was not the first president to enjoy the sea. Many of them did. For instance, President John F. Kennedy was a sailor and spent much of his free time on boats on the Eastern seaboard. Well, when he had the time in between bagging Marilyn Monroe and trying to keep the Soviets from annihilating us.

I enjoy the fact that arguably the most powerful man in the world is a surfer. I am of the opinion you have to be an inherently corrupt person to be elected to high office in this country. Or at the very least, your soul is swallowed by a tapeworm along the way to the top. It’s the way politics work in America. But, at least we know, because he’s a surfer, his soul is not completely tarnished by the Washington political machine. And I sleep much better at night because of it. Surfing is food for the soul. And she has a healthy appetite.

Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann has proposed that Magic Island be renamed for President Obama.

This is such a joke that it doesn’t even deserve a mention.

And here we have Nug falling for a couple of manipulated photo op shots of Obama sort of bodysurfing Sandy Beach last year.

I thought I was reading Nugable. Not the Huffington Post.

Where’s the birth certificate?! Ha!

but in all seriousness, clearly the intent of the post is too drive comments as anybody to the right of Lenin would have to “leave a comment”…I bit.

So every tourist who’s been to Waikiki and stood up on a surfboard is forevermore an “avid” surfer. And what of this nonsense about being a surfer somehow makes him immune from total political corruption? Phhffff…he’s not even a surfer and even if he was, he’s already proven he’s corrupt…(see Stimulus Package, TARP, Timothy Geitner, proposed health care legislation, Rahm Emmanuel, etc.)

The nonsense comes to an end in Nov. ’10. Word up

Maybe the point was that Obama at least has some semblance of a soul…. calling him a surfer is a bit of a stretch.

Recent Presidents that have at least some semblance of a soul: Obama, Clinton, George Sr., Ford, Carter, Kennedy.

Recent Presidents that are completely soulless: George Jr., Reagan, Nixon, Johnson.

Hey 6 outa 10 aint that bad.

WTF… not talk about politics… Politics, Religion, Sex, Money… that’s 99% of what there is to talk about. Everything else, including surfing, is just filler.

Thanks for the shout out, Nug..!

The JFK quote is def one of my favorites – if for no other reason than it humanizes this larger than life figure as he acknowledges that he was, at least in this one way, no different than all of us.

As for Obama, Kennedy, and politics in general – perhaps I’m wrong, but I thought this was a surf blog, no? 😉 But it does remind me of the old joke, probably as old as politics itself:

Q: What do you call 500 politicians at the bottom of the ocean?
A: A start.

Badabumph. I’ll be here all week, folks…tell your friends and thanks for coming – please don’t drink and drive, and don’t forget to tip the waitresses on your way out. You can catch me next week at Chuckles in Poughkeepsie…. (insert rolling-eyes-self-deprecating-smiley-emoticon here)

Obama can’t wipe his ass with the constitution, he doesn’t seem to know of it’s existence. in the short time he’s been in office he has by far become the worst president we’ve ever seen. it will take decades to recover from his failures. well, they’re not really failures, his socialist agenda and the actions and policies that have come from it are definitely intentional.

thank you California and your socialist brainwashed new-agers, liberal media celebrities and overly dependent lower class for idolizing this guy as some kind of heroic messianic savior. how’s all that hopey-changey stuff workin’ out for you guys? you fuckers gave me an I.O.U. on a tax return i was supposed to get for working out there for 3 months last year (worst 3 months of my life, btw. your state sucks).

make no mistake, left to do as he pleases, he would destroy this nation from the inside out. him and his cronies absolutely have the intention of making us all dependent on the federal government in every aspect of our lives. and they’re not hiding it, they’re telling you flat out. rub that California smog out of your eyes and you might see it a little better.

What’s with all the whiny little Conservative ninnies pooping their diapers over Obama’s first year in office?

You had eight fuckin’ years to turn this country and the world into your little utopia. Last I checked, this country had dug itself pretty damn deep in a pile of Mark’s mother’s shit when that mumbling BB brain disgracefully walked out of office.

What is this, surfing’s new bastion for the right-winger commentators scorned by the hack job that closed up shop at LikeBitchin’?

Funny, the stock market, and then the economy went south right around the time that Democrats took control of Congress, January, 2007.

You know Congress? The place that writes every single Federal law.

Congress. The folks who allocate and spend every dime of our money?

Oh yes, and Barry-O is a kookmeyer.

25 01 2010
Blasphemy Rottmouth

I see your point Taj. Barrack’s a kook. No doubt.

However, only a fool would believe that the Dems taking over in ’07 would immediately result in the tanking of the economy. There is no way that the previous eight years worth of “writing every single federal law” had something to do with it?

It takes the average congress at least a year to move their bowels properly, let alone enact an economy crashing policy. Send government assistance to Katrina victims in a timely manner? Pullease. Pass any reform to Healthcare, Social Security etc, efficiently? Yeah right. The gub’ment hasn’t done anything efficiently since they exterminated the Indians (with the possible exception of inventing crack to keep the colored man down).

Dems taking over in ’07 and then leading the world economy to an efficient and tidy ’08 collapse?

Pssshhhtt.

Obama seems well on his way to face-planting as badly as Cheney’s Bush, but the first of a four year term seems a little premature to be ejaculating “failure” all over our girlfriend’s faces.

I’ll gladly boot his ass in 2012 if things haven’t rounded into shape by then.

That said, I’d like to hit the rounded shape that hugs the thongs worn by Alana. Several times. Before I rolled over and went to sleep.

Thank you.

I am going to make this short but sweet: Conservatives aver that big emotions come from big words. As you can no doubt determine from comments like that, facts and conservatives are like oil and water. Before I say anything else, let me remind conservatives that they never stop boasting about its generous contributions to charitable causes. As far as I can tell, however, their claimed magnanimousness is completely chimerical, and, furthermore, it has been trying for quite some time to convince us that the future of the entire world rests in its hands. I suggest it take this rotting ordure and dump it where it and its fellow disgraceful autocrats congregate. At least then we could hinder the power of brown-nosing dweebs like it without having to worry that it will declare that a totalitarian dictatorship is the best form of government we could possibly have. I do not find obiter dicta that are foul, vengeful, and superficial to be “funny”. Maybe I lack a sense of humor but maybe conservatives want to reduce meaningful political discussions to “my team versus your team” identity-based politics. It gets better: It actually believes that it’s a moral exemplar. I guess no one’s ever told it that if you ever ask it to do something, you can bet that your request will get lost in the shuffle, unaddressed, ignored, and rebuffed.

Some people think that we should all bear the brunt of right-wingers actions. Others believe that conservatives can’t throw away its integrity and expect the world to respect it for it. The truth lies somewhere in between, namely, that there is a format conservatives should follow for their next literary endeavor. It involves a topic sentence and supporting facts.

Fox News fans feel that “genocide, slavery, racism, and the systematic oppression, degradation, and exploitation of most of the world’s people are all totally justified.” First off, that’s a lousy sentence. If they had written instead that conservatives should judge not, lest it be judged then that quote would have had more validity. As it stands, conservatives are just trying to pick a fight. That’s why the good book of Laird says that might makes right.

To spread its message of Pyrrhonism, conservatives solicit assistance from gloomy geeks, ungrateful scrubs, and other well-rewarded notables of exploitation and arrogance, superficiality and self-indulgence. Who is behind the decline of our civilization? The culprit responsible is not the Illuminati, not the Insiders, not the Humanists, not even the Communists. No, the decline of our civilization is attributable primarily to conservatives. I try to avoid blanket statements and broad generalizations when I propose that conservatives deserves exemplary punishment, and if you don’t believe me then you should break the neck of the right-winger’s policy of defeatism once and for all. I plan to work within the system to persuade my fellow citizens that conservatives have deliberately and with malice aforethought sought to scrawl pro-nonrepresentationalism graffiti over everything, not because I lack the courage for more drastic steps but because if it feels ridiculed by all the attention my letters are bringing it, then that’s just too darn bad. Mark and his ilk’s arrogance has brought this upon itself. Not to put too fine a point on it but it’s time for conservatives to face the music. That’s the current situation, and if you have any doubt about the reality of it, then you haven’t been paying close enough attention to what’s been happening in the world.

I can repeat with undiminished conviction something I said eons ago: Conservatives say that courtesy and manners don’t count for anything. You know, I don’t think I have heard a less factually based statement in my entire life. Don’t let yourself be persuaded by oligophrenic toughies who secretly want to overthrow western civilization through the destruction of its four pillars—family, nation, religion, and democracy. They present themselves as a disinterested classicist lamenting the infusion of politically motivated methods of pedagogy and analysis into higher education. It is eloquent in its denunciation of modern scholarship, claiming it favors the most silly champions of deceit, lies, theft, plunder, and rapine I’ve ever seen. And here we have the ultimate irony because many organizations lie. However, they lie with such ease it’s troubling. I’ve left out many criticisms of conservatives from this wailing wall of a letter.

Nevertheless, I warrant that it’s a start—a philosophical space where we can plant a new flag symbolizing all that is wrong with conservatives.

Next time, I shall go into greater detail, but for the time being, this short comment should suffice.

I used to think Blasphemy Rottmouth was a pretty sharp guy. Gotta be to come up with stuff that is so funny.

Now I see that he and his twin Shamus are not only incredibly long winded but simply stoopid as well.

Oh well what do you expect from the comments section of a California surf blog? You people aren’t even worth arguing with much less engaging in serious, well researched debate.

I guess when you make a living selling $50 bags and collecting unemployment thus never having to PAY INTO our tax system then you would naturally be gung ho for an overtaxing, overspending administration.

People who invest in stocks are very forward thinking. When the Dems took control of the Congress, investors could collectively see that things were about to change.

Yes, Congress writes ALL of the laws. Spends all of the tax monies.

The economy caught up to what the new Nancy Pantsuit Pelosi had in mind in due time.

When it came to market based decisions, and how people willingly choose to spend their own money, leftist ideas hit the shit can. Airless America Radio filed chapter 7, bk’ville.

The reason why Airless America Radio FAILED?… The hosts, the callers, were all angry people who focused on blame. The offered no solutions. And their attitude that they thought they were better than everyone else?

It tuned everyone off. And everyone tuned them out.

Quite the interesting/entertaining thread! A lot of people who, like Nug, are not shy about expressing an opinion – all of which reminds me of another famous quote by another famous american who also expresses a strong opinion on politics, politicians, and the state of the union, in general:

“In a nation ruled by swine, all pigs are upward mobile – and the rest
of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily
to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. We owe that to
ourselves and our crippled self-image as something better than a nation
of panicked sheep.
